Wood to face Wombles in Reserve champions cup

21 July 2011

After an extremely successful reserve campaign last season, culminating in Boreham Wood Reserves being crowned Suburban North League Champions by eight clear points, the ‘Wood’ youngsters will now play in the Suburban League champion’s cup. The cup will consist of AFC Wimbledon, Corinthian Casuals and East Grinstead Town – Premier Division, South Division and Challenge Cup champions respectively.

The Suburban champion’s cup will be played in a Semi final format, with the two winners progressing to the Final. Boreham Wood has drawn against Premier Division champions AFC Wimbledon in a two legged affair, with the first leg to be played at Meadow Park, home to Boreham Wood; however dates and times are yet to be confirmed. When these details are finalised, they will be posted on this website.

AFC Wimbledon, who’s first team have recently been promoted into the Football League through the Blue Square Conference Play Offs,  convincingly won their reserve league, playing 30 games, winning 21 and scoring 80 goals in that process.
