WOOD SET FOR EXCITING OVERHAUL THIS OFF-SEASON

1 July 2021

Ahead of our signing announcements this afternoon, the Club wanted to remind the Wood Army of the incomings and outgoings at Boreham Wood FC to date this off-season as we look to inject new energy and positivity across the First Team structure at Meadow Park.

In the playing department there were wholesale departures at the end of the playing season with Danny Woodards, Tom Champion, Piero Mingoia, Keiran Murtagh, Matt Rhead, Ryan Huddart and Adam McDonnell leaving Meadow Park upon the expiry of their contracts with the Club, whilst Corey Whitely and Junior Morias returned to their parent clubs when loan spells with the Wood ended at the end of May.

In addition to these departures, there were changes at management level too with Assistant Manager David Dodds, Coach Cameron Mawer, Analyst Elliot Allum and Senior Therapist Steve Snelling also leaving the Club.

In response to these comprehensive departures, Wood Chairman Danny Hunter, Chief Executive Charlie Hunter and Manager Luke Garrard tasked themselves to rebuild the backroom team and playing squad ahead of the new season with renewed energy and positivity as the Club looks to bounce back after a disappointing mid-table finish in the 2020/21 season.

First up came the announcement of two new members of Luke Garrard’s management team with Watford legend Lloyd Doyley arriving at Meadow Park as Garrard’s Assistant Manager, whilst Academy Head Coach Connor Smith re-joined the Club’s First Team structure combining his role as First Team Coach with playing duties at Meadow Park.

Next up comes the announcement of exciting new signings at Meadow Park this off-season to date. So Wood Army, keep your eyes peeled, it’s set to be an exciting afternoon!
