27 September 2017

It was announced earlier this morning that the Young Wood will play host to Hendon in the 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Youth Cup, but who are Hendon?

Hendon Football Club are a semi-professional side based in West Hendon in the London Borough of Brent.

Managed by Gary McCann, the Dons play their football in the Isthmian League Premier Division, finishing in 18th position last season.

They were founded in 1908, as Christchurch Hampstead and finished as Champions of the Finchley & District League Third Division in their very first season.

Now known as Hendon, they are now a supporter-owned club and play at Silver Jubilee Park in Kingsbury.

They can count former Boreham Wood, and current Football League stars Lee Angol, Mauro Vilhete and Junior Morias among their former players.

The match will be played on the pitch at Meadow Park on Thursday, 5 October (7.30pm), and tickets will be priced as follows: Adults – £5; OAP/U16s – £3; U12s – £1.
