WELCOME, JUNIOR DIXON

1 August 2024

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to welcome talented young striker, Junior Dixon, who joins the club on a season long loan from Birmingham City.

Dixon becomes Ross Jenkins’ 6th signing this summer, as the Wood gear up for the start of the 2024/25 National League South season. Hailing from South London, 19-year old Junior began his career coming through the academy ranks at Crystal Palace before he joined Birmingham City.

Whilst at Crystal Palace, he netted a double-figure return and recorded four assists in just 14 Under-18 Premier League games during the 2022/23 campaign.

After a successful trial for Birmingham City at the end of the 2022/23 Professional Development League season, Dixon earned himself a one-year deal, with a year option.

He was named in the Blues’ First Team match day squad for a Sky Bet Championship fixture at Deepdale in September 2023, a reward for a fine start to life at Birmingham City that yielded five goals in six games for Steve Spooner’s Under-21s side.

Junior went on to net 19 goals over the course of last season with the Under-21 side and will aim to continue finding the back of the net with the Wood this season.

In what is Dixon’s first senior loan move, the forward stated that a key reason behind joining was to play for a side with “a clear aim” going on to say “my chats with the gaffer [Ross Jenkins] made me realise the club suits my style of play and I just want to impress as much as I can”.

Ross Jenkins, upon the signing of his 6th player this summer stated that “Junior is an exciting player who has the ability to stretch teams in behind and score goals” and that Junior adds a different dynamic within his front line.

Welcome to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium, Junior!
