WOOD GO QUIETLY ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS

30 July 2019

Boreham Wood Football Club have had a very active summer, having finalised our new North Stand build, our new changing rooms and all of our other facility rebuilds and upgrades.

In that time we feel we have also quietly built a much stronger playing squad, a stronger coaching set up and built an improved back room team.

These improvements culminated over the weekend, with a couple of new signings including the well thought of ex-Bromley goalkeeper David Gregory on a 1-year deal. David has been brought into challenge our present goalkeeping incumbent Ryan Huddart.

To put the icing on the cake, we have subsequently completed the signing of Brentford striker Justin Shaibu on a long term loan. Justin is more than well-known to the Wood faithful, having hit 12 goals for us, winning our top goalscorer award last season.

When you then add in the other recent exciting signings of Jordan Thompson on loan from Coventry City, Adam McDonnell from Aldershot, Piero Mingoia from Accrington Stanley, Tyrone Marsh from Macclesfield Town, Kabongo Tshimanga from Oxford City and include the return of fans favourite and long term injury absentee Kane Smith, it appears to be exciting times ahead for both the club and the Wood Army die hards.

With new Goalkeeping Coach Martin Brennan, new First Team Analyst in Elliot Allum, new First Team and Academy administrator in Sue Hodson and new First Team Physio in Adam Woodrow all recently brought in. It does make for an interesting, intriguing and exciting opening few weeks of the new season as our new staff members and new players bed in.

Welcome to you one and all!
