MATCH PREVIEW: WOKING (H)

24 November 2023

Boreham Wood vs Woking
Saturday 25th November 2023, 3.00pm

Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park, Vanarama National League

PREVIEW

Woking, similarly to us have had a poor start in comparison to where the side finished last year. In the 2022/23 campaign the Cardinals finished 5th in the division but lost to Bromley in their play-off eliminator. This season they haven’t been able to kick on and they currently sit 18th on 22 points.

On November 13th they parted ways with Darren Sarll leaving Ian Dyer as their interim manager. People weren’t sure if there would be someone brought in time for this fixture, however it looks like Ian Dyer will be taking the reins for tomorrow’s game.

FORM GUIDE

Woking– L-L-L-L-L

Woking are in a poor run of form suffering 5 losses in a row. Most recently they welcomed table toppers Chesterfield to the Laithwaite Community Stadium. They suffered a 2-0 defeat thanks to goals from Quigley and Dobra. Prior to that they also welcomed Oldham but from a James Norwood second half goal they lost the game 1-0.

In Darren Sarll’s last game for the Cardinals they suffered a 3-2 defeat away to Oxford City after trailing 2-0 at the break they managed to get a goal back, but Oxford restored their two goal adavnatage which took the game away from Woking.

They also suffered a disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Ramsgate after going 1-0 thanks to a Dennon Lewis goal, Ramsgate came back and won the game 2-1 meaning Woking exited the FA cup at the first round.
