PASE STUDENTS PASS LEVEL 1 COACHING BADGE

Over the past 3 weeks  Boreham Wood FC have hosted two FA LEVEL 1 Coaching Courses, giving the opportunity for their young PASE Academy players to start their education at a coaching level.

Run over the two sites, Boreham Wood FC and The College Of Haringey, Enfiled and North East London (Enfield Centre) where the boys study a range of subjects from Sport BTECS, Business and Construction as part of the Sports and Education Program.

The FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate in Football is the first step towards becoming a recognised football coach. This vocationally related qualification provides you with an opportunity to study and be assessed in both practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football at this level.  The certificate qualifies the boys to coach grass roots club teams for children and young people.

The boys that took the qualification gained the knowledge to enable them to have a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective football coaching to young people. They learnt to safely organise and supervise football activities including Mini Soccer, Small Sided and Conditional Games Promote and establish working relationships and high standards between players, coaches, parents and officials. They now understand different aspects of coaching children, identify and adapt football activities and deliver sessions for a variety of different age groups, Identify personal development opportunities in football including sports therapy, administration and officiating.

Over  40 boys have passed  and are fully qualified FA Level  1 Coaches.  This now means in excess of  400 boys have gone on to complete the Coaching qualification with Boreham Wood FC PASE Academy. The club will be looking to help these boys gain experince in with Club’s Communtiy Coaching Programme.

Many of the boys who have passed this qualification will now have the opportunity to put their new skills to test working with Boreham Wood FCs growing Community Department, delivering coaching sessions in local primary schools and running after school football coaching sessions.
