Team News

Luke Garrard has no fresh injury concerns going into the game, having seen his squad come away unscathed from their opening two matches.

New signing Josh Umerah could make his debut against Wrexham.

Form Guide

Four points from their opening two matches will have pleased Boreham Wood manager Garrard.

An opening day victory over Dagenham & Redbridge was followed up by a solid 0-0 draw away to Havant & Waterlooville.

Angelo Balanta opened his account in the win over Dagenham and will be hoping to add to his tally against Wrexham.

Ellery Balcombe produced a stunning display against Havant & Waterlooville on his Wood debut, pulling off three outstanding saves.

Now managed by 36-year-old Sam Ricketts, Wrexham finished 10th in the National League last season, despite spending a large period of the season in the play-offs.

A whole host of new players have signed for the Wales-based side over the summer and they currently sit level on points with the Wood, with four.

One to Watch – Mike Fondop-Talom

Fondop-Talom initially came to prominence in England with the likes of Billericay Town, Margate and Oxford City, before earning a move to now relegated Guiseley.

The forward netted four goals for the Yorkshire based side before heading out to neighbours FC Halifax on loan.

Fondop-Talom will be remembered by the Wood Army for his goal against Boreham Wood for Halifax, towards the tail end of the 2017/18 campaign.

He became new Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts’ second signing as boss and has started both of their National League fixtures this campaign, scoring in the win over Dover Athletic.

A quick and lively presence upfront, the striker will be one to keep an eye on this Saturday.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“New manager, new personnel. I have watched the games against Dover Athletic and AFC Fylde, and a lot of what I watched, I saw last year. They are still very well organised, very well drilled and haven’t conceded a goal as of yet.

“I think that he has got a great job, because I think that they are a big club at this level, and you saw the amount of fans that they had on Tuesday evening.

“They have got a threat in terms of Fondop-Talom and Maguire-Drew, who I think have been great acquisitions for them at this level. They are going to be tough, like any game is in this league.

“They have got personnel in their ranks who could play for any team at this level, so we know that if we aren’t on our on metal, then we are going to have a hard game on our hands.

“But, if we turn up like we trained today and like we will train tomorrow, then I honestly believe that we are in for a game.”
