Form Guide

Boreham Wood got back to winning ways against Torquay United, with a commanding 2-0 victory.

An early goal from Angelo Balanta, and a late penalty from Bruno Andrade secured the victory.

The win means that The Wood enter the New Year in the National League playoffs, with a game in hand.

Luke Garrard’s side currently sit just three points off second placed Aldershot Town.

Managed by 51-year-old Paul Doswell, Sutton United currently sit in third place, on 45 points.

A victory for the Wood, would lift them above Doswell’s side in the National League table.

United lost last time out, falling to a 1-0 loss to league leaders Macclesfield Town.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

I don’t think that they will need a team talk personally. I think that when you have been handed a 4-0 battering; yeah maybe the performance wasn’t a 4-0 and didn’t reflect that, and the two decisions played a massive part; but to play them again in such quick succession, I think that the boys need a reaction.

“They should use that as a catalyst to continue doing what they have done and I feel that we will go there with a focus, that we need to repay them the favour in terms of the result they came and handed us here.

“I have got to be honest, I have got a group in there who are focused and they are as professional as anything.

“I know that they know that the job in hand for Sutton is massive. We are in the playoffs now and we don’t want to look back.”
