Team News

Loan signing Noah Chesmain made his debut against Solihull Moors on Saturday, and will be hoping to keep his place in the side.

Fellow loanee Aaron Jarvis remained on the bench for the fixture, but will be in contention to face The U’s.

Form Guide

A 0-0 draw against Solihull Moors in the last round of fixtures, kept the Wood’s unbeaten streak alive, having not lost since September.

The draw ensured that the Wood remained in the playoff places, going into Christmas.

The boxing day clash is the first of two fixtures against Sutton, with the Wood also coming up against Paul Doswell’s men on New Year’s Day.

Managed by Paul Doswell, United currently sit in fourth place, on 42 points. A win for the Wood, would see them rise above Doswell’s side in the table.

Sutton United lost last time out, falling to a 3-1 defeat at home to Tranmere Rovers.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

We come into a period of three games in six days now, and I have got a squad who I need to patch up.

“I do expect them to be professional in the next two days, but I totally agree that they should enjoy their Christmas. I think that it is a massive period for them to recharge and be together with their families.

“But, Sutton becomes the focus and we will do our work and the players will be put to work to watch the analyst stuff that I will be sending them.

“Sutton have got a very attacking threat. They play a system where they try and get boys up high on the ball and they try and pin you in and they lock you in.

“They are strong with set pieces and deliveries into the box and they have got the likes of Collins who will go and attack it with intent.

“I will watch their game from Saturday and get the report back from that, but in terms of Sutton, it is about what we do.

“We are at home and I think that we like our home ground. We play a certain way and I think that gets us on the front foot and that is what I will be looking to do.”
