MATCH PREVIEW: SUTTON UITED VS BOREHAM WOOD

30 January 2014

After a fine performance against Dover Athletic on Saturday where the Wood were unlucky not to take all 3 points,  this Saturday face a difficult trip to Gander Green Lane to take on promotion chasing Sutton United.

Sutton have made a solid start to the season and sit comfortably in a play off position however with the players they brought in during the summer and their weekly budget they will be disappointed to currently sit 20 points behind runaway leaders Bromley.

On their visit to Meadow Park back in December, Sutton took all three points, winning 3-1, however had the referee sent off Mitchell Nelson for bringing down Austin Lipman as he was clean through on goal, the game could of had a different result.

The Wood have had better luck on the road this season than at Meadow Park and have secured 7 points out of the last 9 available so will go to Sutton full of confidence believing the points can come back to Hertfordshire with them.  However on our last two visits to Sutton we have been on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.

Following a heap of postponements Greg Morgan serves the final game of his 3 match suspension which was gained back in December. Other than that Ian Allinson should have a fully fit squad to choose from.

The recent turn around in form will give the Wood faithful the belief than the side will start pulling away from the other sides at the bottom of the table.

Your support though is invaluable so get down to Gander Green Lane on Saturday and cheer the boys on to 3 big points.

Come On The Wood!!!
