MATCH PREVIEW: DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE VS BOREHAM WOOD

2 September 2016

Preview

After Monday’s loss to Maidstone, despite controlling the entire game a lack of any attacking threat cost Wood dearly. The gaffer will be hoping to have a number of injured players back for Saturday’s trip to Victoria Road as the Wood take on Dagenham and Redbridge

Daniel Uchechi is yet to make an appearance following an injury sustained in the penultimate pre season game against Stevenage. Anthony Jeffrey (AJ) is close to being in contention after pulling up in the warm up against York City, meanwhile Ricky Shakes, Morgan Ferrier and Angelo Balanta should all be fit for the tie.

Centre-back David Stephens is still a mid-to-long-term absentee after suffering a fracture of the metatarsal, whilst Bruno Andrade is still a number of weeks away from a return after damaging his hamstring at York City.

Dagenham will be looking to put right what went wrong on Monday when they went down to Sutton United 1-0.

Garrard and his side though will themselves be looking to get back to winning ways.

The last time these sides met in a competitive fixture was back on 18th March 2000, when Dagenham ran out 2-0 winners in the Ryman Premier division. They also went on to win the division that season.

John Stills’ side, who were relegated from the Football League at the end of last season, have adapted to life well and started brightly sitting 4th in the table with 15 points from 7 games.
