The Wood are back in action in National League South looking to extend the unbeaten run to 5 games now, the team travel towards the south-west coast near Bath tomorrow for their clash against Chippenham Town. Most recently Chippenham had conceded late on to Weston-Super-Mare last weekend, losing 1-0 knocking them out the qualifying rounds of the FA Cup. Chippenham Town are struggling towards the bottom of the table as they find themselves in 20th and will be wanting to turn things around quickly. In contrast, The Wood sit 9th in the league as the players will be looking to surge up the table now and carry on the momentum into this game after a 2-1 win against Larkhall Athletic as we progressed to the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup

Chippenham Town: D-W-L-D-L
The Bluebirds first hosted their game in the south-west coast against Tonbridge, in a frustrating match where the sides both sides had minimal chances to take the lead and had to settle for a stalemate 0-0. On the Road, Chippenham then visited Nailsea & Tickenham which was a game to remember for the visitors as they followed up their frustrating league draw with a 6-1 demolition victory where everything went there way as it took them to the next round of the FA Cup. The Bluebirds then still on the road lost again in the league to Salisbury, 3-2 in a close game going into stoppage time, where Chippenham put a valiant effort to peg the score back each time but the winner was little to late to salvage anything from the game.
Things didn’t improve that much for Chippenham’s next game, as back at home in the Hardenhuish Park Stadium saw them held to another draw as a well drilled defensive Weston-super-mare equalised late on to make it 1-1 and force a replay for a chance to progress from the 3rd round qualifying stage in the FA Cup. The Bluebirds were quite attacking for most of the game as Weston-super-mare had most of their men defending behind the ball as Chippenham had best chances in the game, but Weston managed to dig deep and find a equaliser ensuring they were still in the competition with a fighting chance. The Bluebirds latest game back in action on the road was the replay match of the FA Cup which did end in disappointment as back on the road again they lost to a well drilled and discipled Weston-Super-Mare earlier this week losing 1-0 a game to move past quickly for them as this knocked them out the FA Cup.
