MATCH PREVIEW: BROMLEY VS BOREHAM WOOD

1 April 2015

by John Mead.

This Saturday it is first against second at Hayes Lane as we travel to face Bromley. One point separates the two sides, with our Kent rivals having a game in hand, making this an extremely important game for both sides.

Wood have enjoyed a decent run away from home of late, winning their last four matches. Bromley have almost matched that, with three wins and a draw on the road and have lost just once away from home all season. Looking at the current home form of both sides they are also almost identical, with both sides winning just one in four, our two draws slightly better than Bromley’s one.

Ian Allinson has cited, “ There will be more twists and turns” and that is an understatement, given that aside from Concord Rangers the top sides will meet their rivals before the season has run its course.

There is little doubt given the current league standings that all eyes will be on the outcome of this mesmerising tie. The culmination of a long, arduous and unpredictable season looks very much like going to the final Saturday.

It would be folly to suggest that either side will not feature in at least the play off finals, yet there will only be one outright winner and if a positive result is achieved by either side, it will surely put them firmly in the driving seat.

Wood will have the goal threat of the Manager’s son Bradley Goldberg, on loan from Dagenham and Redbridge to contend with, along with Moses Ademola, who is the current top scorer at the club. Jamie Slabber is the current in form striker however with six goals in as many games.

A massive crowd will be expected and it is paramount that we show our support for Ian and the boys this Easter weekend.

On Bank Holiday Monday we are hosting Sutton United in our final home match of the season, a day that we honour the services of Brookside Boys Club. Again we are hoping for a bumper turnout to cheer the lads on, in what is already the most successful season in the history of Boreham Wood Football Club!

Saturday April 4th, Bromley v Boreham Wood. The Fortress Stadium, Hayes Lane. Bromley. BR2 9EF.
