Following record breaking numbers for 2014/15, for Boreham Wood Football Clubs PASE trials, are delighted to announce we are now holding open trials throughout August to fill the final twenty places and give local young talent the opportunity to join one of the most successful sports education programme’s in the UK.

The PASE Academy’s coaches have overseen approximately 450 trialists at our Meadow Park ground across just 5 trial dates, with more now registering their interest. With that in mind our PASE Academy will be holding open trials for those latecomers who are awaiting their test results and have yet to trial.

The PASE Scheme was started by Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter and has over the years come on leaps and bounds from its inauguration in 2002.

The PASE Scheme and youth structure in that time has won National Titles, multiple leagues and cups, while producing 14 England Internationals at Schools and College level, mainly over the last 6 years. That number is more than any other club or scheme at our level in the entire Country.

The BWFC Chairman said, “We have progressed many of our boys in the last 10 years to play at a senior non-league or professional level of football and presently we have 3 England College Internationals, 7 PASE Scheme players in our First Team squad and playing at Conference South Level. In addition, we have helped six of our old youth team players into the professional game. Lee Hodson, played first team football with Championship Watford FC and made over 100 appearances in the Championship. He is now at MK Dons. Kyle Vassell spent six years with us and is now doing very well at Peterborough United, in fact he got their winner in Saturday’s league opener. While Pelly Ruddock left us to join East London giants West Ham United in 2012, after he enjoyed a trial and impressed Hammers boss Sam Allardyce. Pelly has since joined The Skrill Conference Champions Luton Town FC on a permanent basis and he is doing fantastically well and will play a big part in their league two campaign this season.” Hunter Concluded.

Overall the coaches have been impressed with the lads who have trialled, and Academy Director Luke Garrard said, “We are very happy with the response we have had this year in terms of student/player numbers. Every one of the staff involved with the Club and the PASE Academy need thanking as they have worked tirelessly over the past months in the recruitment process and their hard work is paying off…”

The Academy Director continued, “The standard of players has been of a level that we can work with and improve. I believe that have we put on enjoyable trials for them all and they have got a real insight of the Club, the coaching, its facilities, and the education provision that’s provided…”
