FA TROPHY MATCH PREVIEW: BOREHAM WOOD VS MAIDSTONE UNITED

9 December 2016
Preview

Wood will be glad to be back on home soil this coming Saturday after defeat to Aldershot last week in the National League. Wood’s home form of late has been very impressive with victories over Hendon, North Ferriby, Woking, Southport and Sutton whilst drawing with Notts County.

Luke Garrard will be able to call upon Anthony Jeffrey again after he returns from a one game suspension. Garrard will also have fit again Striker Morgan Ferrier back in his squad after sitting out the past couple of weeks owing to injury.

The FA Trophy hasn’t been the kindest to Wood in recent years bowing out in the first round numerous times following our run to the Semi Final of the comeptition back in the 2005-06 season loosing out to Woking who were then three divisions above the Wood.

The last time the two sides met in a cup competition was in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round back in 2013. Wood ran out 1-0 winners that day

Maidstone since beating the Wood here on Bank Holiday back in August courtesy of a 94th minute winner, have found themselves slipping towards the dreaded drop zone with a run of 5 defeats and a victory in their last 6 outings.

As we all know cup games mean league form goes out the window so Luke Garrard’s men will have to be at the top of their game if they are to progress further in the competition.

Admission prices for the fixture are as follows;

ADULTS – £18.00

OAPS – £13.00

UNDER 16 – £8.00
