FA CUP FEVER COMES TO “THE WOOD”

30 October 2012

With FA Cup Fever gripping the Club and town and with tickets for the Cup tie against Brentford this Saturday selling like hot cakes, it has obviously conjured up the local interest. To the extent that National Radio Stations, ITV and other National TV companies are writing reports, articles and seeking interviews and quotes from ‘The Wood’ Manager and Players alike.

For our part time players at Meadow Park, this is not a familiar feeling. In truth for the clubs assorted Builders, Salesman and Surveyors who they have amongst their ranks it is a complete culture shock!!

Boreham Wood Gaffer Ian Allinson said “I’ve told the boys to just enjoy all the attention while it lasts but to always remember that in the FA Cup, Winning is the only goal they need to ultimately focus on. When your the underdog like we are and nobody gives you a chance, we must believe and we do. So if our supporters turn up in numbers, then the magic of the FA Cup can take over and the shock will happen somewhere and with a little bit of luck, it could be us” Allinson concluded.

The Club received further good news yesterday, when the FA agreed to send down the FA Cup itself and allow the Town to get themselves a photo with the Famous old Trophy.

So this Thursday, 1st November. The Club has arranged with the Football Association, for the FA Cup, along with Boreham Wood’s Assistant Manager/Player Luke Garrard and their star Midfield Player Chez Isaac’s. To be available at Tesco’s in Shenley Road between 10am and 1pm.

Please Note; this is an all welcome photo call for the whole town to enjoy the FA Cup. All photograph’s with the Famous Trophy are ‘free’ and anyone wishing to purchase match day tickets, they will also be available.

So just bring your camera and the kids, enjoy the fun and get to know the Boreham Wood players and the FA Cup!!

So get your Photo and get your ticket for the match. Help us to cause an upset!!!
