COMMUNITY FOOTBALL RESTARTS THIS WEDNESDAY WITH FREE TASTER SESSION

19 April 2021

Boreham Wood FC’s Community Department is delighted to announce that our much loved Wednesday football training sessions will begin this coming Wednesday, 21st April with a FREE taster session simply because we’ve missed you all.

Our community team are itching to give a little back to our local budding football stars of tomorrow after such a long time without grassroots football following the lifting of restrictions from the most recent national lockdown with this FREE and most importantly FUN taster session.

If everyone likes what we do, we’ll be able to gauge our numbers before officially recommencing our safety first community sessions on a weekly basis, starting Wednesday 5th May. Please note: On Wednesday 28th April there will be NO SESSION due to a prior commitment to Arsenal Women and the WSL.

Our Wednesday after school football sessions are broken down into three age specific categories; Little Learners for 3 to 5 year olds, Junior Trainers for 6 to 8 year olds and Future Stars for 9 to 11 year olds, with all sessions focusing on developing all areas of football, whilst also creating a safe and fun environment for all.

Understandably, as the country comes out of this COVID-19 pandemic, safety and cleanliness is in the forefront of parents/guardian’s minds. However please be rest assured that Boreham Wood FC and our community team have always been ahead of the curve throughout the pandemic with an over-cautious safety-first approach. Our community team, who are tested twice weekly themselves, will be on hand for each and every session to ensure all participants are temperature checked, have used our hand sanitiser stations and all equipment used has been cleaned and sanitised before and after each session…

Upon announcing that our Wednesday football is set to return, Community Manager Connor Smith commented, “Firstly I’d just like to say I hope you all have managed to stay not only safe and healthy but sane through these tough times. As your Community Manager, it’s an amazing feeling to be able to finally prepare to welcome you again and to announce the return of our very much-missed community youth football initiatives, hopefully for good this time!

“It’s been an incredibly difficult year in so many ways for so many people, but we are delighted to be returning more and more to some sort of normality. We are all extremely excited to welcome back our youth football participants here at the Wood, and we are planning in detail ways to ensure our activities are not only fun and enjoyable but also safe, too. So I look forward to seeing you and welcoming you all back personally.” Smith concluded.
