CHARLIE MOONE SIGNS FOR THE WOOD

23 March 2013

Boreham Wood are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder/forward Charlie Moone for Ryman Premier League Hampton & Richmond Borough FC.

He began his professional footballing career in the 2008/09 with Woking FC in the Conference National, following graduating from Woking’s Academy where he captained their youth team.

Charlie was rewarded with his first contract at Woking FC after a successful 2007/08 season where he was the Conference Youth League top goal scorer, scoring 15 goals in 13 appearances.

He made his first team debut as a substitute against York City FC on the 6th September 2008 and his full debut at home on the 31st January 2009 against Northwich Victoria FC.

During the 2008/09 season Charlie made 16 appearances, scored two goals and captained the first team in the Surrey Senior Cup quarter-final.

Charlie then went onto sign for then Conference South side Hampton & Richmond Borough in August 2010, and in his time at the Beveree Stadium he scored 20 goals in 50 starting appearances.

Everyone at Boreham Wood welcomes Charlie to Meadow Park in time for the final play-off push, and we hope his time at ‘The Wood’ is hugely successful.
