BW PASE ACADEMY TRIALS ANNOUNCED

8 January 2019

The BW PASE Academy are now recruiting for the 2019/20 season, with our first trial on Tuesday, February 19 (9.30am).

Our record-breaking Sports and Education Academy is completely FREE, apart from a small training kit cost! This is your chance to join the academy for the upcoming season.

The programme – which is linked with our education partners’ Barnet & Southgate College – is arguably the UK’s largest, and most successful football and education scheme.

It is an all abilities academy, which can cater for everyone’s individual needs and desires. Whether you are looking for a pathway into football, or a first-class education.

There are clear pathways from PASE and into the first team, as Sorba Thomas has shown. The PASE graduate played for the first team at WEMBLEY STADIUM in the Promotion Final and has become a regular fixture in the side this season, making in excess of 25 appearances.

The academy has also produced the likes of Wolves’ Ben Goodliffe, Rangers’ Lee Hodson, Rotherham United’s Kyle Vassell and Luton Town’s Pelly Ruddock, to name just a few. The likes of Bruno Andrade and Grant Smith at Lincoln, Morgan Ferrier at Walsall, Lee Angol at Shrewsbury and Junior Morias at Northampton, also earned moves to the Football League, having impressed for Boreham Wood – amongst numerous other success stories.

The Wood Academy has become a breeding ground for young talent and continues to produce International players, with five earning prestigious call-ups for their country, with England Colleges, this year alone.

This season proved to be another highly successful campaign, with our U19s winning the ‘Champion of Champions’ again to become National Champions of England and Wales, and our U18’s earned themselves a League and Cup double.

The PASE Academy was set up by the Chairman in 2002 and provides 16-to-18-year-olds of all abilities the chance to join a sports & education programme that really cares.

The facilities at Boreham Wood are first class, with a Premier League standard, million pound Desso surface, a new 5th Generation astro pitch and a state of the art gymnasium.

The work that the players do on the pitch, is then backed up by our Sky Sports style smart boards, which enable our coaches to review matches and go through things tactically with the scholars.

The players are coached by our superb UEFA and FA licensed coaches, which include current first team players. Ricky Shakes, Danny Woodards, David Stephens, Manny Parry, Femi Ilesanmi, Ryan Huddart, Jamal Fyfield and Tom Champion all coach the PASE Academy players, alongside first team assistant manager Cameron Mawer.

If you sign up for the PASE academy, you will also receive a complimentary Boreham Wood season ticket, so that you can cheer on your potential teammates.

Boreham Wood offer the most diverse array of academic courses in the country for this type of scheme and have a track record of success in regards to retention and course success rates, with over 630 students taken on this year.

PASE offers a wide range of tailor-made courses that provide its students with an educational programme that marries up to their training programme. These courses include BTEC, YMCA, Construction and A-levels.

Whether you want to study alternative courses such as Art, Business, Drama and ICT, or gain your BTEC in Sports Science, PASE has you covered.

Our education programme has led to numerous students going to University, and 18 continuing their education on Soccer Scholarships in America.

The training programmes work around the student’s academic timetables so that they can achieve the success they need both on-and-off the field.
