BOREHAM WOOD VS LUTON TOWN – MATCH PREVIEW

11 July 2013

Boreham Wood v Luton Town

Match Preview

by John Mead.

john stillThis Saturday John Still brings his Luton Town side to Meadow Park for their first outing of the pre season. John is no stranger to Meadow Park having visited most pre seasons of late with  Dagenham and Redbridge. He returns with another familiar face having recently appointed ex Wood player Hakan Hayrettin as First Team Coach. Hakan led Grays Athletic to the Ryman League Division One North title last season with a record points haul.

On the playing side it is interesting to see Alex Wall grab the number 10 shirt for the season after signing from Maidenhead United last season right after our ill fated trip there in February, when traffic gridlock and our performance made it a night to remember for all the wrong reasons!

Midfielder Luke Gutteridge joins The Hatters straight from Wembley Stadium, his last appearance being for Northampton Town in their play off defeat with Bradford City. Mark Cullen is a striker who joins up with Still from Hull City, whilst Still has added to his squad from far and wide, with two arriving from Histon and another pair from Southport.

Ronnie Henry makes the short trip from Stevenage, a solid full back full of running who will certainly be an asset at Kenilworth Road next season.

The Hatters are warming up for a prestigious friendly at home to Aston Villa in ten days time, whilst we are awaiting the visit of Arsenal U21’s, Brentford, Reading XI, Watford and Cambridge United before we turn our thoughts to the upcoming League campaign!

Saturday July 13th. Boreham Wood v Luton Town, kick off 3pm.
