BOREHAM WOOD versus DOVER ATHLETIC PREVIEW

11 November 2011

Tomorrow, Saturday 12th November 2011, Boreham Wood host Dover Athletic in The Blue Square Bet South Conference at Meadow Park, Kick off 3pm.

The fixture looks to be one of the key games of the season. The Whites are widely expected to be one of the main challengers for promotion. Their form so far has been a bit uneven but their recent form has pushed themselves up into the play-off places and can be expected to provide a very tough test for Ian Allinson’s side, as ‘Wood’ look to extend their unbeaten run.

‘Wood’s’ unbeaten run stretches since the start of October, when ‘Wood’ crashed out of the FA Cup at Slough Town, but since then Boreham Wood have won Six games on the bounce and have climbed from 20th to 8th in the Blue Square Bet South league table.

Dover currently sit in 5th place with 28, having won 7, drew 7 and lost just 2 from their 16 league games, scoring 24 and conceding 11. Dover also come into the fixture in good league form, winning all of their last four league games against Maidenhead, Weston-Super-Mare, Bromley and Thurrock respectively.

Donavon Simmonds, Billy Bricknell and George Purcell are all joint top league goal scorers for Dover this campaign with 5 goals each, so whoever is to take the field at Meadow Park this Saturday, are sure to create chances for The Whites.

An exciting game is in store against two sides in good form and both eyeing up play off places come April. Come down to Meadow Park and get behind the boys, as win could potentially fire ‘Wood’ into seventh place, our highest ever Conference league standing.
