Boreham Wood versus Bath City – Match Preview

8 February 2013

by John Mead

This Saturday we entertain last Season’s relegated Bath City at Meadow Park.    The visitors have had a mixed bag of results this Season. Our trip to Twerton Park earlier this Season found us up against a very competent side and on the day we were very pleased with our point from the goalless draw.

Whilst we were on the end of a 4 – 0 beating at the hands of Welling United midweek, the visitors recorded a fine 0 – 1 win at Farnborough. It was just what the doctor ordered after they were beaten at home the previous Saturday by Staines Town in front of over 1,000 fans.

Since our goalless draw The Romans have appointed Lee Howells as First Team Manager with Adie Britton taking up the role of Director of Football.    City are a Club who believe in promoting local talent and exhibit patience with a three year plan to get back to the Conference National where they enjoyed two Seasons before joining the Blue Square Bet South this Season.    The Romans are currently eleventh in the table, ten points behind Wood.

Ian Allinson will be looking for a quick reaction following our heaviest defeat of the Season, where cheap mistakes were punished by the best side we have encountered so far this Season.    A win would cement our place in the Play-off positions, a situation we have enjoyed since the opening game of the Season.

So get on down to Meadow Park and cheer us back on course for what has been an incredible Season so far.

Boreham Wood versus Bath City, Saturday 9 February Kick off 3pm.
