WELCOME BACK, GUS MAFUTA

30 July 2024

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to welcome the return of 29-year old midfielder, Gus Mafuta who joins the club on a season-long loan from Solihull Moors.

Mafuta becomes Ross Jenkins’ 5th signing this summer, as the Wood gear up for the start of the 2024/25 National League South season. Gus is a vastly experienced footballer, having played at numerous clubs at National League level over an almost 10 year career. Beginning his career at Bristol City, Mafuta has gone on to play for multiple different clubs within the National League, including Gateshead, Hartlepool United, York City and most recently Solihull Moors, where he spent the last season.

Amongst those National League clubs, Gus spent 2 seasons playing for the Wood, where he made 78 appearances from 2020 to 2022. Over that time, Mafuta was part of a historic period of the club’s rich history, including playing a role in 2 historic FA Cup runs. Most notably, Gus scored our third goal against St Albans City in the 2nd Round.
