TYRONE MARSH EXTENDS

23 May 2024

Boreham Wood FC is delighted to announce that forward Tyrone Marsh has extended his contract, keeping him at Meadow Park until the end of the 2024/25 season with an option for another year despite interest from various other clubs.

Marsh, a fan favorite, first joined Boreham Wood in the summer of 2019 after leaving Macclesfield Town. He began his career at Oxford United, graduating from their Academy in 2012 and making his professional debut against Leeds United in the Football League Cup.

In his first season with Boreham Wood, Marsh scored 15 goals in 40 appearances, helping the team reach the semi-final of the National League play-offs despite the season being curtailed by COVID-19. He then moved to Stevenage in 2020 but returned to Meadow Park in February 2021.

Marsh’s return marked the start of a memorable period for the club, highlighted by a historic FA Cup run. The team reached the fifth round for the first time, with Marsh scoring a crucial winning goal against AFC Wimbledon. The Wood then defeated AFC Bournemouth, setting up an exciting fifth-round tie against Premier League, Everton.

Marsh was also a key component in the squad that reached the play-off semi-final against Notts County after beating Barnet in the play-off eliminator. Over his two spells at the club, he has made over 200 appearances, cementing his status as a club legend.

We are thrilled to have Marshy with us for another season and look forward to more great moments together!
