Charlie O’Connell is a versatile footballer capable of playing anywhere across the defensive line, as well as a central midfielder. Charlie began his career in the renowned West Ham United Academy before joining Peterborough United in 2019. O’Connell quickly became a key player for the Posh’s development sides, captaining their under 18’s and under 21’s teams, making his senior Posh debut in May 2021 against Doncaster Rovers.
First Team opportunities at London Road were limited but O’Connell gained valuable experience through several loan spells with the likes of Kettering Town, Woking, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Oxford City. In July 2023, O’Connell made the switch to Boreham Wood from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.
