BOREHAM WOOD SUPPORTER, BRETT LEWIS IS RAISING MONEY FOR LOCAL WATFORD CHARITY

1 September 2023

Brett Lewis who is a Boreham Wood supporter and a member of the club’s media team, is currently taking part in a fifty2fifty Swimming Challenge to raise money for Peace Hospice Care in Watford, in memory of his close friend Steven Miller. Steven sadly died of cancer in August 2022.

For the challenge, Brett has committed to swimming 100 lengths of a swimming pool (2.5km), everyday for fifty days running. He started on Sunday 16th July and will finish on Sunday 3rd September, which would have been Steven’s 50th birthday (hence the name, fifty2fifty Swimming Challenge). He is currently in his final week and feeling it!

The Peace Hospice is a health facility caring for people with a life-limiting or terminal illness, which is funded by public donation. The Hospice was a great support to Steven and his family during the last few weeks and indeed after he died.. Also, having been admitted to the Hospice the day before he passed away, they made his final few hours as comfortable as they could.

The aim of this swim is to raise as much money as possible to ensure The Peace Hospice has the funds to make sure that other people can enjoy the same support and assistance that was given to Steven Miller and his family at such a difficult time.

Brett understands that money is tight, but if members of the Wood Army can contribute by sponsoring him, it would be appreciated. For those who want to sponsor him, you can do by clicking here
