TOWN TWINNING INITIATIVE COMES TO MEADOW PARK

17 July 2023

Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that as part of the town’s twinning with central Israeli town Shoham, the Club will welcome a youth team from Shoham to spend a week with us here at Meadow Park.

The town twinning between Borehamwood and Shoham was confirmed earlier this year in March at an official signing ceremony hosted at the Civic Offices, which Chairman Danny Hunter and Manager Luke Garrard attended as special guests of Mayor Sandra Parnell. The event was the culmination of several years of hard work in order to form an official twinning to forge links across education, sport, culture, business and friendship between the two communities.

The first sporting and cultural initiative between the two towns will witness Boreham Wood FC host a training camp at Meadow Park for a youth team from our Israeli counterparts. The youth team from Shoham will spend a week with our coaching line-up, including First Team Manager Luke Garrard and Assistant Manager Lloyd Doyley, for daily training sessions before playing against a Boreham Wood Academy XI within our Meadow Park stadium on Sunday 23 July 2023, kick-off 1.00pm.

The Club welcomes the local community to join us for the Sunday fixture to celebrate the town’s twinning on what will no doubt be an exciting community day for all involved. Entry is FREE and the Stadium will open from midday. We look forward to welcoming as many of the local community as possible.

OUR CLUB. OUR TOWN. OUR COMMUNITY.
