After very good onsite meetings with both our safety officers and the local police, Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that we are in a position to increase our Stadium capacity for the Emirates FA Cup Hertfordshire derby, scheduled for Monday, 6th December, kick off 7.45pm, and a sell-out crowd is now guaranteed.
As such, our ticket office will offer both the Wood Army and Saints supporters an increased ticket allocation next week. This will give more people the chance to watch the game and enjoy what promises to be an incredible atmosphere of ‘live’ local non-league football on the night, set within the new look LV Bet Stadium Meadow Park.
The atmosphere has always been special when St Albans City have come to town, but this really does promise to be extra special, as both clubs are now in a ‘winner takes all’ scenario. This game is also the final match to be played in this season’s 2nd Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup, save for replays, and it means both clubs will know who they’ve pulled out of the hat in the FA Cup 3rd Round proper before stepping on the field of play.
Please note: The Wood Army’s increased ticket allocation sales will continue to be a phased sale right until December 1st, when we embark on our whistle stop FA Cup tour locally. More details will follow but we expect by the time we finish the tour on December 1st that all tickets will be sold and we will also know exactly to whom each ticket has been sold. If we are fortunate enough to get through to the next round, then those purchasers’ details will help us to decide who gets tickets for the next round.
Our phased selling approach has ensured that as many of our old and new supporters within our town and wider community, have been given the chance to see this eagerly awaited FA Cup tie up close and personal, and we know how much that’s been appreciated by the silent majority.
Please note: St Albans City’s increased ticket allocation, will only go on sale at 7pm (on our online portal) on Tuesday, November 23rd, as that will allow Saints fans to get home from work. These sought-after FA Cup match tickets are expected to sell out quickly but they will still be subject to our strict online safety checks, including both ID and postcode. They will also be restricted to 2 tickets per person.
Boreham Wood FC’s busy ticket office and media team would like to thank the supporters of both clubs for their patience in this process. In truth, the demand on both sides has meant we could have possibly sold this fixture out twice over, but it is not about just taking people’s money with no care given for the safety and security of the fans of both clubs, as that is our priority.
So, by taking our time in regards to creating a newer, safer and more secure new BWFC ticketing platform and process, we have learnt a lot more about it. This will ensure as much as possible, that our new safety, security and fan friendly ticketing process would have improved because of the demands for this match. Also, we now know both the clubs’ safety officers and our local police are very happy with our match arrangements and new ground capacity.
A record LV Bet Stadium Meadow Park capacity crowd could now await and we look forward to welcoming you all on the night – ‘To the Victor the Spoils’.
