Johnny Goddard

Biography

Goddard joined the club in June 2024 following the conclusion of his contract with Slough Town. Johnny began his career in the youth set up at Reading but a year after signing his first professional contract he was released and signed for Hayes & Yeading. After a successful trial period with Woking, he signed for the Cardinals in September 2013, going onto make over 125 appearances for Woking in all competitions, scoring 27 goals. This consistent form caught the attention of the Football League and in May 2016, Johnny signed for League One Swindon Town.

Across a one-and-a-half-year stay at the County Ground, Johnny would make 65 appearances for the Robins scoring five-goals, before joining Stevenage in January 2018 for an undisclosed fee, however following the arrival of Dino Maamria as Stevenage manager, Johnny found himself out of favour, and after a loan spell away from Broadhall Way with Bromley, Johnny made the permanent move to Aldershot Town in January 2019 on a six-month deal.

Single season spells with Ebbsfleet United, Woking and St Albans City between 2019 and 2022 ended with Goddard joining Slough Town ahead of the 2022/23 season. In two seasons with Slough, Goddard made an impressive 95 total appearances, scoring 26 goals, 20 of which came during the 2023/24 season.
