FA YOUTH CUP ACTION ON FRIDAY TO BE LIVE STREAMED

7 October 2020

In anticipation of the FA Youth Cup coming to Meadow Park this Friday evening as Wood’s Under 18’s takes on Berkhamsted, following a number of enquiries from fans wanting to watch the next crop of Wood youngsters in this prestigious competition, we can unfortunately announce that the fixture will go ahead on a behind closed doors basis though with a live stream available.

Although the FA advised that the FA Youth Cup would be classified as non-elite sport, there was a caveat that allowed the home Club to have the final say in regard to the environment the game shall be played in. After careful consideration, taking into account we are playing a behind closed doors fixture again at Meadow Park less than 16 hours later against FC Halifax Town and the procedures and protocols that entails, the Club ultimately decided a behind closed doors fixture would be the safest way to proceed.

In respect of this, the Club has decided to offer a live streaming service for family, friends and supporters of both Boreham Wood and Berkhamsted Under 18’s for just £5.00.

Under 18’s Manager Cameron Mawer commented, “As always, I am hugely excited for the FA Youth Cup and the possibility of a Cup run in this prestigious competition. It’s disappointing not to have the player’s family and friends in attendance, but given the circumstances it is more than understandable. I think it’s great that the Club has provided a streaming service.

“Berkhamsted will be tough opposition. I watched them in the previous round and know they will be a tough team to beat, but myself and the boys are looking forward to the challenge.” Mawer concluded.
