The Wood are back at home this Tuesday, February 19 (7.45pm), when we welcome AFC Wrexham, in the National League. Here’s our preview…
Match Details
Boreham Wood Football Club have now moved onto an online ticketing system and ticket details can be found HERE. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults £18; OAPS £13, under 16’s £8 and under 12’s £4 (subject to booking fee).
These prices are to sit or stand. The West and East stands are seated, and the North and South ends are standing.
We advise that all supporters planning to attend BWFC matches at Meadow Park, purchase tickets beforehand.
Once purchased, tickets are available to download to supporter’s phones, are accessible on the Ticket Arena app, and can also be printed at home and brought to the game for entry.
Tickets will still be available to purchase on the day of the game, but at an increased rate of £2 (£3 for U12s).
For home supporters, cash payments will be available on the East Stand turnstile, and card payments in the Gallery Suite bar. Away supporters will also be able to purchase tickets on the away gate in the West Stand, with cash.
The match will be segregated, and the nearest public car park is stationed in Brook Road and adjacent to stadium.
Team News
Luke Garrard has no fresh injuries to contend with.
The match against Hartlepool United came too soon for David Stephens, but he could be available for Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Justin Shaibu missed the match against Hartlepool United due to concussion and could return to action on Tuesday.
Form Guide
The Wood lost 4-0 at home last time out to Hartlepool United, with braces from the in-form Nicke Kabamba and Josh Hawkes.
However, Wood gaffer Luke Garrard was happier with his side’s performance, who put on an improved attacking display.
The home side arguably dominated the first half and could have gone ahead, through chances from Jamal Fyfield and Sorba Thomas.
Sean Shields was once again a bright creative spark, featuring on the left of a front three. While, Ralston Gabriel enjoyed a positive debut up front.
Boreham Wood remain 15th in the National League, on 39 points after 33 games.
The Wood have a game in hand on a number of their rivals and a positive result would stretch the gap between themselves and the drop zone.
Managed by 42-year-old Bryan Hughes, Wrexham sit second in the National League table, just two points off table toppers Solihull Moors.
The Dragons won last time out, beating Havant & Waterlooville 3-2 away from home.
Goals from Shaun Pearson, Akil Wright and James Jennings secured the victory, and a win at Meadow Park would take them top of the National League.
One to Watch – Akil Wright
The all action midfielder first came to prominence with non-league Ilkeston at just 15-years-old and had already made in excess of 40 appearances before he turned 19.
His form earned him a move to the Football League with Fleetwood Town, before Wrexham recruited the services of the exciting prospect.
A real engine in the middle of the park for the Dragons, Wright has been a key player in their run towards promotion from the National League.
If Hughes’ side are to earn promotion, then Wright needs to continue his form. He has scored twice in 34 matches so far this season.

“I have got to look forward to Wrexham and we have got to be in a position where we get the group back together. Hopefully, Justin Shaibu and David Stephens will be available for us.
“That will bring two extra bodies in and two sets of fresh legs to put on a performance.
“We have lost a buffer of six points to five points, but on Tuesday, we can increase that buffer to eight points.
“That is something that I have put to the group. Wrexham come to town, they have got an opportunity to go top, and their dressing has got the pressure. They are a big side, who shouldn’t be at this level.
“Come Tuesday night, I am hoping that we get a reaction and can put an eight-point buffer on the board.
“I have got people who are fighting for the cause, they are not quitting, not one of them.
“I felt that there was positivity in the first half and I think that is something that we need to build on. We need to come out punching and come out fighting.”
