A commanding centre back, Agbontohoma kicked off his career as a youngster with Arsenal before spending three seasons on the south coast with Southampton. In July 2021, he made the switch to Sheffield Wednesday after a successful trial period. During his time at Hillsborough, David made two senior appearances for the Owls in the EFL Cup.
