Boreham Wood and Leyton Orient played out an entertaining 0-0 draw at Brisbane Road.
The result leaves the Wood one place outside of the National League playoffs, level on points with seventh placed Tranmere Rovers.
Alex Davey and Ricky Shakes came closest for the Wood, in a first half of near misses.
The Wood returned to their usually 3-5-2 formation, as Davey made his debut in the middle of a three-man defence, with Tom Champion and Jamie Turley.
It was a first half of high intensity, and the Wood nearly opened their account inside of five minutes. Angelo Balanta’s low cross was met by Davey in the box, but he couldn’t squeeze it past Dean Brill from close range.
Grant Smith had to react quickly down at the other end of the pitch, pushing Alex Lawless’ strike away from his bottom right corner.
The Wood were settling into the game and pressing Orient; Kane Smith headed down a long-ball into the path of Shakes, but his twisted effort was blocked wide.
New signing Alex Davey had been thrown straight into the Wood XI for the clash with Leyton Orient and displayed his impressive long-range throw.
A monster of a throw-in from Davey, found its way to Andrade at the far post, but Orient snapped the ball clear.
It was a similar story shortly after, another throw-in from Davey looped into the Orient area, but Murtagh’s snatched shot was blocked.
A silky back heel from Balanta picked out Andrade perfectly, he drove inside of the area, but Brill saved well from his driven effort.
The Wood continued their dominance and Murtagh sliced over the crossbar from another Davey throw, after a tough bounce.
The Wood were looking electric in attack; Balanta and Smith linked up on the right flank to feed Andrade, who darted around his marker and pulled it back for Shakes on the by-line, but his strike cracked against the woodwork.
Orient were struggling to contain the attacking threat of Andrade, who confused his marker on the left-wing before laying off Murtagh, but his long-range strike was caught by Brill.
An under hit cross from James Dayton landed straight into the hands of Smith, as Orient struggled to get a grip onto the game.
On the counter, Smith crossed into the host’s area and Andrade ditched his marker to get onto the end of his whipped ball, but nodded narrowly over.
Andrade gambled on Mark Ricketts looping header, snatching it from the feet of the Orient defender and darted into the box, he pulled it back for Shakes, but somehow, Brill clawed his shot off the line, saving it with his legs.
The hosts’ returned for the second half a much-improved side and a mixup within the Wood backline allowed Dayton a shot on goal, but he sent his effort both high and wide.
Davey met a long-range free-kick with his head, but nestled his attempt narrowly passed the post.
Macauley Bonne then had the ball in the back of the net, but he was pulled back for a foul on Grant Smith, after the duo had collided.
A powerful left-footed strike from Reynolds was caught well by Smith, as Orient continued to press the visitors.
There was one final chance for the home side and Smith was forced to pull of a stunning save, after Dave Mooney had volleyed at the Wood goal.
Smith then whipped a ball in from the right-wing and Brill missed the catch, but Aaron Jarvis was unable to turn it in at the far post.
