MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD TOWN VS BOREHAM WOOD

6 October 2016

Preview

After Tuesday’s victory over Braintree Town, Wood head North on Saturday in buoyant mood. Though at present there is no tougher opposition than Macclesfield Town who are the leagues in form team.

John Askey has done a tremendous job at Macclesfield and this year have proved a hard side to play against. They recruited well in the summer but the one that stands out is that on the managerial side as John Askey appointed Steve Watson the former Newcastle defender as his assistant manager.

To date Macclesfield have played fourteen winning nine, losing three and drawing just once and sit in fourth place 7 points and 8 places ahead of the Wood.

Just Lincoln and Eastleigh have taken points away with them from Moss Lane this season, so it will be a tough ask for Luke Garrard’s men.

Dave Stephens is the gaffers only long term absentee, following the injury sustained on the opening day of the season. Garrard should otherwise have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Wood’s away form has been a real plus this year winning three and drawing four. With Macclesfield having only drawn once a result can be expected at Moss Lane.

The Club minibus is sold out and we would encourage as many of the Woodarmy as possible to make the Journey, as always your support is hugely appreciated by all.

The chairman will once again be providing a FREE breakfast for any that are travelling. More details on this will be on the website tomorrow.
