JUNIOR MORIAS SIGNS

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce an exciting new player addition to an already talented squad. After a summer long chase that had been started four months ago ‘Wood’ Chairman Danny Hunters patience has finally been rewarded as he announced he had got the promising striker Junior Morias deal over the line.

Manager Ian Allinson has described his delight at the player signing and said ” Junior is a special talent, needs someone to believe in him, he has a great knack of scoring goals, works very hard and gives us another dimension. He will add goals, add quality and add options to our squad and that will be vital to our clubs play off and promotion aspirations this season”..

Junior himself is no stranger to Meadow Park or ‘the Wood’ fans, as he was on loan to us last season from his old club Wycombe Wanderers and became a real fans favourite at Boreham Wood. His goal scoring record with ‘the Wood’ also makes impressive reading, as he scored 9 goals in 14 apperances and after a relatively slow start with us, he more than anyone helped turn our fortunes around last season. His form was one of the catalysts that led to us finishing our league programme so strongly.

Ian Allinson continued “I’m very grateful to the Chairman, for managing to get this deal done. We have agreed with Luton Town that he can train there full time, while they assess him. We already have a similar arrangement with John Still and Terry Harris regarding Lee Angol.. Young players like Lee and Junior need to be playing regular football to develop as players but it helps them to remain in a professional set up and train full time”..

Allinson concluded “This arrangement gives Junior regular football and he will I hope develop and progress quickly. If he performs as I know he can, he will get the game time he needs on a Saturday. This deal is good for all parties as its long term and that allows the player to focus for the season. I expect Junior like Lee Angol to be a top player at our level and be amongst the top goal getters and assist performers in our division”..
