MATCH PREVIEW: BOREHAM WOOD VS MAIDENHEAD UNITED

25 November 2013

Our gallant cup heroes return home this Tuesday to take on fellow strugglers Maidenhead United in an important league encounter.

Even though The Magpies are on a poor run of form, like ourselves they can point to a host of injuries that decimated the side defensively of late. However that problem has now passed for both teams. A fine 0-1 victory away at Eastbourne Borough just over a week ago in the F A Trophy is proof that things are on the up for the visitors. We know all to well that Borough are a decent outfit after our narrow loss down there this weekend.

Johnson Hippolyte’s side followed that up with a narrow defeat themselves last Saturday on the road at Bath City, going down 1-0. Wood will be looking to climb the table against a side that after an unbeaten five game start to the season have suffered a dip in form. A win will send us above the visitors who are just one point above ourselves having played two games more.

We welcome back some familiar faces in the shape of Reece Tison-Lascaris who featured in our PASE scheme, defender Curtis Ujah and last but not least Elvijs Putnins. The Latvian is surely one of the best keepers to ever pull on a Wood shirt as he proved during his loan spell from QPR.

He will take some beating but the standard of our performances of late should ensure that with a little extra support on the terraces we can start the climb back up the table.

Please turn out and support your local side, who so nearly created the shock result of the round in the F A Cup just one week ago.

Come On You Wood!

Tuesday November 26th, kick off 7.45pm.
