BOREHAM WOOD VS WATFORD – MATCH PREVIEW

This Tuesday Wood stage their Sixth prestigious Pre-Season Friendly match when Gianfranco Zola brings his Watford side to Meadow Park for this annual fixture.

After suffering the heartbreak of missing out on automatic promotion Watford had to endure the end of season lottery. A thrilling semi final encounter against Leicester swung one way and then the other and with all things level after 180 minutes the game was heading into extra time when Leicester were awarded a very soft penalty and the chance to visit Wembley however the penalty was saved by Alumnia and Watford went down the other end and Troy Deeney smashed home the winner to send the home fans delirious.

Watford went on to face Crystal Palace in the final and all square after 90 minutes and the game in extra time, Wilfred Zaha was fouled in the box and ex Hornet Kevin Philips stepped up to send Palace up and break Watford fans hearts.

Watford begin their League Campaign this Saturday against Birmingham City.

In the fixture last season it ended 1-1. It promises to be a fine evening’s entertainment after which both Managers will be hoping that their respective sides are looking sharp and ready to compete this coming Season.
