SAD PASSING

3 July 2013

RYAN MORAN NEWBoreham Wood Football Club is sad to inform our supporters the sad news that Ryan Moran, our ex-Boreham Wood footballer, has sadly passed away following his lengthy fight against a rare form of cancer.

Ryan’s name will be forever engraved into the history of Boreham Wood Football Club, having made 320 appearances with us, including two promotions, two memorable runs in the FA Cup and another memorable run to the semi-final of the FA Trophy. Ryan was an instrumental figure in creating what was one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

RYAN MORAN GOALRyan’s most memorable moment in a Boreham Wood shirt was during our Ryman Premier play off victory over Kingstonian FC in 2010. Ryan not only put in a man-of-the-match performance at the heart of our defense, but also scored what would turn out to be the winning goal in a 2-0 victory, clinching promotion into the Blue Square Conference South for the very first time…

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan’s wife, parents, family and friends. Ryan was a tremendous character in the dressing room, and a great person to be around both on and off the pitch… Everyone at Boreham Wood are deeply saddened to have lost such a fantastic human being, friend, and a truly great Non-League footballer. Rest in Peace and GOD BLESS YOU Ryan…RYAN MORAN PRES
