Boreham Wood are delighted to announce the return of fans favourite Bruno Andrade to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park following his departure from League Two Stevenage this summer.
Bruno is fondly remembered by the Wood faithful for his first period at Meadow Park between 2016 and 2018. Arriving from National League counterparts Woking in the summer of 2016, Bruno spent two seasons in a Wood shirt, scoring 38 goals in 100 appearances.
Bruno is best remembered for his contributions during the 2017/18 campaign, registering 20 league goals from 45 appearances to help Wood secure a 4th placed finish before reaching the National League play-off final, though we devastatingly lost out to 10-man Tranmere Rovers for a place in the coveted Football League under the Wembley arch. That same season Bruno was an integral part of the Wood team that beat a Football League side for the first time in the Club’s history when Wood defeated Blackpool 2-1 in the FA Cup First Round Proper.
A marvelous campaign was rewarded with a place in the 2017/18 National League team of the season and rightfully, the Football League came calling for Bruno, opting to sign for then-League Two Lincoln City under Danny and Nicky Cowley. After a season-and-a-half at Sincil Bank, including winning the League Two title during the 2018/19 season, Bruno departed Lincoln City with 73 appearances to his name, signing for the class of 92’s Salford City in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
In a COVID-19 interrupted stint with the Ammies, Bruno departed Salford City in the summer of 2021 to join previous loan club Stevenage, spending a single season at Broadhall Way. Bruno returns to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park as a free agent having spent the previous few weeks training with Luke Garrard’s side in an attempt to maintain fitness.
Upon Bruno’s return to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, Gaffer Luke Garrard said, “I’m really happy to welcome Bruno back. The timing on this deal works out for both parties, especially now we have another longer-term injury in Dion Kelly-Evans. Bruno has been training with us the past few weeks and has become integrated within the group during that period. He has proved to me he is fit and it’s good timing to get this deal signed so we can bring him up to full match fitness as soon as possible.
“He is someone we all know really well and most definitely doesn’t need any introduction to the Wood Army. He comes into a very competitive squad, and I think he adds much needed strength and competition in key positions. He has worked under me previously and we have a relationship where he knows what my demands are and what I will be expecting from him.
“Bruno will be featuring in the squad on Tuesday evening against Bromley. Let’s hope he can have a successful time with us once again.” Garrard concluded.
Bruno will wear the number 21 shirt.
Welcome back to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park, Bruno!
