JAMIE LUCAS RETURNS TO WOOD

15 January 2016
A JAMIE LUCAS

Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that we have re-signed striker Jamie Lucas on loan for the remainder of the season from Bristol Rovers.

Jamie is a firm fans favourite with the Wood Army and is no stranger to Meadow Park, having had two previous stints at the club. After signing on loan from Bristol Rovers the day before the season began, Jamie scored on his debut in our opening day win against FC Halifax Town.

After suffering a hamstring injury in our 2-0 victory up at Tranmere Rovers, his loan was unfortunately cut short. A month later Jamie arrived for a further four weeks however he was required back at his parent club Bristol Rovers to supplement their squad but we’re now delighted to welcome Jamie back to the club for the remainder of the season.

On his return Gaffer Luke Garrard said “Jamie has been on my radar from the moment he went back. He has proved already that he is a handful for defences at this level and he gets goals. He comes into a squad that is growing in confidence and will give me options in the forward areas”..

Chairman Danny Hunter said “I would like to thank Bristol Rovers and especially their manager Darrell Clarke for their help in getting this deal over the line. We are now starting to see a really well balanced squad put together here that can compete at this level. Jamie adds power, strength and an eye for goal at this level and the manager and player were very keen to get the deal done as early as possible in this transfer window”..
