HUDDART BECOMES A RAVEN

1 October 2019

Boreham Wood can announce that goalkeeper Ryan Huddart has today joined league leaders Bromley FC for an undisclosed fee.

Ryan joined Boreham Wood in the summer of 2018 following his release from Premier League giants Arsenal.

Prior to landing at Meadow Park, the former England youth international had experience with both Arsenal’s First Team and Premier League 2 sides, most notably being named on the Gunner’s bench in the UEFA Champions League on multiple occasions, including a group stage tie against German giants Borussia Dortmund.

After an impressive first season at Meadow Park, which culminated in multiple call ups as part of Paul Fairclough’s England C set up, Huddart fell down the pecking order upon the arrival of former Bromley shot stopper David Gregory, meaning he had yet to make an appearance this season for the Wood.

Alongside his playing duties, Ryan was also a very popular member of the coaching team within our renowned PASE Academy here at Meadow Park, and will no doubt be sorely missed by Academy players and coaches alike.

Speaking on Huddart’s departure to Bromley, First Team Manager Luke Garrard commented, “I’m genuinely happy for Ryan as he deserves to get game time at this level. Despite limited opportunities this season, he has been the ultimate professional working alongside David Gregory and goalkeeping coach Martin Brennan.”

Garrard continued, “At the tender age of 22-years-old, it is vitally important for Ryan to play games in order to achieve his target of returning to the Football League, whether that be with Bromley via promotion or earning himself a move.

“With my Academy head on, Ryan will be greatly missed from that side of things too, having developed a great relationship with the young goalkeeping group within the Academy, as well as our coaches” concluded Garrard.

Everyone involved at Boreham Wood FC would like to place on record our gratitude to Ryan for his services to our Club both as a player and academy coach, and wish Ryan the very best for future.
