Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that two influential players, namely Grant Smith and Bruno Andrade, have both had their contracts extended, keeping them at Meadow Park until the end of the 2017/18 season..

Both players  have been in fine form recently and in Grant Smith’s case, his form has been rewarded by being called up to the England C squad against Estonia on November 15th..

The club can also announce that our young Academy prospect, Sorba Thomas, has also put pen to paper on his senior first contract with the club, after some eye catching performances for the Under 18’s in the FA Youth Cup and for the reserves this season..

On the new deals Wood Gaffer Luke Garrard said “It’s important that we don’t get carried away with things, but both Grant Smith and Bruno Andrade are not only talented, they’re focused, their both great ages and they are instrumental in my planning for this football club. As for young Sorba he’s a boy who has bags of ability and pace to burn. So I wanted to take a chance on him and see if he develops over the next 12 months, like Simeon Akinola and Corey Whitley did”..
“I’m also delighted to have signed off on my own deal until the end of the 2018/19 season. As that shows the Chairman has faith in me, but to have got both Grant and Bruno on board for next season, says a lot about what I think we can achieve, with these two and this group of players. As I fully expect more contract extensions to follow in the coming weeks”.. Garrard concluded.
